Our Voices Together
Our Voices Together: Stories of Migration to and from Donegal — an intercultural oral history and heritage project in collaboration with Workhouse Union, Donegal County Museum and County Archives, and Donegal County Council. Funded by the Peace Plus Programme.
Our Voices Together is a two-year oral history project exploring stories of migration to and from County Donegal. Led by our long-time partners Workhouse Union, a community co-design and creative placemaking organisation, the project brings together their expertise in participatory and community-led approaches with our creative direction and audio production. Funded through the PEACEPLUS programme and managed by Donegal County Museum, the project will work with communities across all five Municipal Districts to gather, record, and share the experiences of newcomers to Donegal alongside those of emigrants and returned migrants.

Throughout the project, we will engage over 200 participants through community workshops, oral history recording sessions, and a schools programme involving one school per Municipal District. Each school will take part in three workshop sessions exploring themes of migration, identity, and cultural heritage.
Over 50 oral histories will be recorded, and a permanent archive of stories, photographs, and supporting material will be deposited with the County Donegal Archives. A touring exhibition will travel to at least eight venues across the county, including libraries, community centres, and cultural spaces.
