Fragments: Memories of Place
A process of engagement with Ballyogan’s older residents to create a portrait of place through memories and stories, which will be realised through an immersive sound installation that can be shaped by both storyteller and listener. In collaboration with Ballyogan Library and funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
Living Rhythms have been commissioned by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to create a sound sculpture for Ballyogan Library. At the heart of the sculpture are the memories and stories of the area's older residents.
Over the last few weeks we have been meeting with these residents to capture stories that reflect what the place means to them. Stories about moving to Ballyogan, what it was like growing up, raising a family there or building a community there.
The recordings will be experienced through a sound sculpture in the library with an exhibition due to take place in May 2026.
